Entertaining home learning

5SC Prompt #18 Logan R

One day there were five bears computer bear, yoggie bear, chocolate bear, Lego bear, minecraft
Bear. One day they wanted to have a family rennion so they got the family together. They got a big
Blanket out and heaps of food and drinks. Thay all sat down and had lot of fun and food. Then they went to the park and had heaps of fun.

What is milk made of?

Milk is made of molecules and the acid makes them different
Milk has protein in it called casein cases a long chain this is called Cerds.
We get protein from the from the milk by separation the Cerds from the
liquid in a strainer.

The lorax and Logan R

The lorax came to corbets rd. We played in the house and he was a builder.
Then we went to the river. We went home, we designed a robot it was fun.

Kids cafe

We had kids cafe I learnt how to play basket ball.
I learnt how to dribble
Some good points were they demonstrated
Next time they could be louder
Now I am wondering how to pass
I learnt this from excelsior
International school Malaysia.

Rubbery egg

I made a rubbery egg this is how you make it.

Materials
1 egg
Drinking glass
Vinegar

Steps
1.gently place the egg in the glass
2.pour vinegar over the egg to completely cover it
3.wait several days.
4. Take the egg out of the glass and feel the shell

How does salt react with ice?

When salt is sprinkled on ice the salt reacts. The salt melts faster. Water is made of H2O 

H- stands for hydrogen O- stands for oxygen. Ice is frozen water. Water has strong bonds 

Salt breaks the ice by using energy. This science is used to melt ice on the roads.

Science Visit

Yesterday we had visitor. She was talking about pest control. She showed us a frozen rat. My favourite thing was seeing the frozen rat.

Modelling dough

Today I made modelling dough this is how you make it.

Materials:
flour
cornflour
food colouring
salt
vegetable oil
water
2 cups
spoon

Method:
1.  Place two tablespoons of water into the cup
2.  Add two drops of food colouring
3.  Add one spoon of salt
4.  Stir until the salt dissolves
5.  Place four tablespoons of flour
6.  Add one tablespoon of cornflour
7.  Add one tablespoon of vegetable oil in the second cup.
8.  Add the salty water to the second cup
9.  Knead well with your fingers.

Science Day

We made dancing raisins.

Today we had a science day. It was great. We made bouncy balls and heaps more!

A Challenging Moment

Room 3 produces lots of WOW work and our writing is no different. I just thought WOW could stand for Work On Writing and that's what we have been doing this week!

This week we have been writing about a challenging moment. Here are some of our finished pieces of work, they are WOW all right!

It was Sunday Mum and I were training for a dressage competition we rode 

around on the arena. After training we went to the competition I did a test with trot and walk and the challenging one too . It had trot , walk and canter so it was so hard. I

was so nervous but I came 4th and that was exciting.

Rugby 2014

Me and Ben went to our 2nd year of rugby. We should be in under 8.5 but we decided to be in under 10's. It is awesome. I scored a try in the corner. Ben scored a try too. We had lots of fun to be playing again. I tackled the biggest kid in the other team. It seemed impossible. I did it. I felt good and happy.

Cantering

It was my fist time . I was scared and I kept on whipping her. I heard mum cheering.I was going very fast. I went bump bump bump. I held on tight and she cantered.I  was proud of myself when I got off her.

A few weeks ago I did the weet-bix triathlon and I did the individual one. I do not know what place I got but I was proud of my self when I finished because I did my best.When I biked I saw lot's of ducks and lots of people hurt but I biked on because I wanted to win. I did a good job when I was biking on the road because I over took the people on the road.When there were no cars coming I over took the biker's on the other side of the cones.When I was going to the finishing line I heard my Grandma, Sara, Mum and Sam were cheering for me. After the prize giving we went to McDonalds.

The climbing wall at camp

At camp we did a climbing wall. It was huge I did not want to do it. But everybody 

Wanted me to go on it so I did. I was scared but I got a quarter of the way up 

I was impressed. I loved it.

Logan's holiday at Otematata.

I went to Otematata . It was really fun. I went kayaking, boating, swimming and fishing.
We went to the Benmore Dam. Gran and pop came too. My favourite part was going on

the boat. It was a Cresta craft and I loved the kayaks too. My Gran and Pop slept in their caravan at the boat harbour

 Finding a egg

One hot sunny day I was at Corbets road, Springston. I was with my mum dad sisters and

 brothers. We were at the duck pound having a picnic and then dad spotted something. We

 went over to have a look. It was an egg. We picked it up with a stick. It was very big.

It was weird . Ducks were flying over the duck pond. Dad smashed the egg, it was rotten

I wonder what type of egg it was?
